Tldr: I’m hosting an online Qoya Inspired Movement Class this Sunday, March 3, 2024 | 9:15 AM- 10:45 MST. Come dance in community as we delve into the essence of ourselves with the theme: Thy Heart. Class is pay what you wish, so whatever works for you works for me.
Thy heart.
My heart. Your heart. The collective heart. These two words so simple, yet probably one of the biggest, if not the biggest learning, we will ever undertake in this lifetime will be a heart journey… journeys over our lifetime.
Always leading, coming back to my own heart and the search for love, in all realms and ways.
As one of my mentors and the founder of Qoya Rochelle Schieck says, Whatever is happening in your life at this moment, are you willing to open your heart to it?
Can I stay soft in a society that tries to mold me in a way of their own craft?
Can I open my heart even though I know that eventually that will equal loss?
Am I willing to accept my role as love warrior and carry on in the ways only a lover can do?
The answer for me has always been yes, even in the hardest moments of my life where I felt like love and my heart could never be found again.
In true warrior fashion, I find myself choosing the battle of the heart and all that encompasses. I can be in my heart space and still be strong. I can honor thy heart with boundaries and sacredness, along with a softness.
If these words resonate with you, I’d love to share with you in the co-creation of movement and community. If you have been with me for awhile, what I am about to say is not new for you, but for the folks just joining, I’ll share my favorite thing about Qoya. There is no way to do Qoya wrong. The way you know you are doing it right is that it feel good and true for you in that moment.
This is a gentle, fun, ease-filled practice that meets everyone with compassion for where they are, and every part of you is accepted and welcome. Not to mention there’s a pretty dope set of songs that I’ve lovingly curated to guide us on our individual, yet collective journeys of our hearts.
The long story short is I’d love to move with you while co-creating with community, music, and the others. If this resonates I’d love to see you this Sunday or if you know someone who you think might connect with this offering, please pass on to them.
Sending lots of love and a gentle reminder to offer kindness to ourselves as we navigate these worlds.
